We invite you to join us for 20 minutes of abstract performance. Each piece is without spoken dialogue and features an immersive theme, original music and strong visual textures. Our performances are open to interpretation. We ask you to open your imaginations and journey with us into a surreal new world.

Swallow The Sea Caravan Theatre are a Scottish arts collective, co-founded by Jess Raine, Emma Brierley and Jemima Thewes.
Since they began collaborating in 2015, they have toured to festivals and venues across Scotland and internationally with shows that can be presented for large audiences outdoors, or inside an intimate all-immersive theatre in the tiniest of settings with the smallest of audiences.

JESS RAINE (she/her)
Jess trained as a director, but is more excited by collaborative devising especially of object theatre.
Maker of theatre, installations, sound scapes, festival décor, percussive beats with band Portnawak & The Woo and singer of songs with Balkan polyphonic choir Kuchke. When not immersed in such escapades, Jess will be found outside.
Tree planter, lover of herbal remedy making, instigator of Three Hares Community Woodland and facilitator of woodland skills programmes for kids and mental health groups.

Emma’s interests stem from a rural upbringing steeped in community collaboration, food sharing and celebration.
She brings 20 years of experience as a maker, performer and producer in projects that intersect arts, community, ecology and food justice. She has led on co-productions in Scotland and Internationally with communities and individuals ; activists, farmers, educators, human rights lawyers, poets and makers of all ages to create puppetry, print, performance and animation.

JEMIMA THEWES
Jemima Thewes is a singer-songwriter, artist, puppeteer and performer who grew up in the highlands of Scotland, an atmospheric landscape which continues to help fuel the bones of her music. She sings traditional songs and her own material. Jemima also works with Rowanbank Environmental Arts and Education to create interactive adventures with outdoor learning at the core of its philosophy. Listen to her debut album "The Calling" here
