2023 UPDATE
Hi friends, We’re reaching out to update you on where-we’re-at.
2021 was a whirlwind for us, with the support of Creative Scotland we made a new show, THREADS - which some of you will have seen in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe during our run at Summerhall where we also shared TRIPTYCH as part of the Made in Scotland showcase.
We also had the good fortune of being part of the joyous Vogrie Pogrie event in Gorebridge, SEALL’s Summer Programme on Skye and an afternoon with Mayfield Community Garden. We spent time in the company of new and old friends, explored new collaborations - shout out to our THREADS costume designer & maker, Yarrow Frost! Our documentation team, Stillmotion and Callum Gilles! Graham, our favourite mechanic! Our - as requested - anon Scots Gaelic translator! Bob and Lucy at the Blundabus! & Andrew - our landlord and cheerleader, always good to know your local farmer!.
Sharing our work and being alongside you all after such a long hiatus was truly a beautiful thing.
The past 18months have brought some unexpected and happy surprises our way;
Emma began working with Edinburgh Agroecology Cooperative and studying for an Art & Social Practice (MA) with the University of Highlands & Islands, Jemima launched her long awaited album. You can listen to her music here: www.jemimathewes.co.uk
and we are thrilled to welcome the arrival of Jess's baby!
Up until 2021 we had worked on this project in a part time capacity, taking turns to fulfil all the roles that go into making a caravan theatre happen; writing self/crowd/organisational funding applications, show creation - concept / audio & visual design / fabrication / rehearsing / directing / performing, show booking, tour management, caravan maintenance, website building, social media, newsletters - you name it, we did it and shuffled in between each of our other freelance projects.
The funding we received in 2021 allowed us to work full time for 6 months which in hindsight was too short a timeline to achieve all we set out to do. With sheer tenacity we got through it, but we have learnt in the process that this is definitely not the most sustainable way of working! We are restructuring our approach to this incredible venture:
We’re now
We have much gratitude for the support that has helped us to grow to this point and look forward to sharing our shows with you again in the not so distant future.

We’re now
- working with a producer to guide us with strategic visioning
- on our way to becoming a Worker’s Co-op
- updating our online spaces, tour packs, filing systems
- researching and writing for a 2023/24 touring fund application
We have much gratitude for the support that has helped us to grow to this point and look forward to sharing our shows with you again in the not so distant future.
